NAIDOC Week is here again, running from 4 to 11 July. It marks a national celebration of the achievements, traditions and strength of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

It is an invitation every year to share in culture, history and honour the contributions made by so many Indigenous Australians that makes our country what it is.

The 2021 theme, Heal Country!, is a reminder to us all of the importance of looking after the land that provides for and sustains us, as well as looking after one another.

It is a call to action to protect and preserve land, water, culture and more – for the benefit of all Australians.

Heal Country! provides a foundation for the preservation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and how they can be used to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to thrive.

The Morrison Government is proud to support NAIDOC Week again this year with $1.4 million going to local activities around the country, many of which can be safely enjoyed online.

I appreciate people's plans are changing rapidly, but I encourage you to join in however you can – in a COVID safe manner – and enjoy all that NAIDOC Week has to offer.
