Today Anthony Albanese tried to make what is old, new again. Instead of committing to projects that Victorians need, Labor has announced it will provide funding for the Doncaster to Hoddle Street bus way. This project has already been committed to by the Victorian Government in 2017 as part of the North East Link – a project that Dan Andrews claims is fully funded.

But now they are even further behind – funding for a busway was included in the East West Link proposal back in 2014.

Today’s announcement to catch up on North East Link funding and to fund projects in the South East, already committed to by the Morrison Government is just another indication Labor cannot manage money.

It comes days after Bill Shorten announced he would shift money from the East West Link to pay for Dan Andrews’ cost blowout on Melbourne Metro.

The Victorian State Labor Government has announced it will not release its budget until after the federal election.

We now know why: It has been revealed today that there is a $2 billion cost blowout on the Melbourne Melbourne Metro Tunnel.

Premier Daniel Andrews has repeatedly said the Melbourne Metro Tunnel is fully funded.

He even refused the offer of $857 million from the Federal Government to go towards the project.

It is bad enough that Bill Shorten is increasing taxes by $387 billion because he cannot control his own expenditure; now he is bailing out incompetent state Labor governments.

With Labor, it is always higher taxes and fiscal mismanagement.

They simply cannot manage money.

Only a Morrison Government will deliver for Melbourne.
