$5 million redevelopment for Campbelltown Memorial Oval

A re-elected Turnbull Coalition Government will help drive jobs and growth in Campbelltown and surrounding suburbs in the electorate of Sturt by upgrading the Campbelltown Memorial Oval.

Local clubs and community groups will benefit from a $5 million Turnbull Coalition investment in this facility, which has been deteriorating.

The new modern multipurpose sport and community facility will create jobs and increase recreation opportunities for community.

It will include the construction of a play space, fitness station and pathway network. It will also boost the number of women participating in sport, with two additional netball courts and female specific change rooms.

This commitment is part of the Coalition’s approach to building healthy and active Australian communities.

This funding commitment, which will be matched by the Campbelltown City Council, is in addition to the $7.5 investment for the Campbelltown Leisure Centre announced in 2013 and $500,000 announced last week to redevelop the Payneham Oval Clubrooms.

The electorate of Sturt is benefitting from the hard work of local Member Minister Pyne and the Turnbull Coalition Government.

“I am thrilled to be able to deliver this fantastic project for the families of the north eastern suburbs of Adelaide,” said Minister Pyne.

“This project combined with the Campbelltown Leisure Centre and Payneham Oval redevelopment will see Sturt locals benefitting from the Turnbull Coalition Government’s investment long into the future,” Mr Pyne said.

A re-elected Turnbull Coalition Government is dedicated to building stronger communities across Australia. By investing in community infrastructure such as the Campbelltown Memorial Oval we are growing more vibrant and viable communities and are delivering jobs and growth.
