About Ted

Ted O’Brien is the Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Shadow Minister for Energy Affordability and Reliability and Federal Member for Fairfax. 

Ted has over 20 years’ experience in business both in Australia and overseas – starting on the shop floor as a trainee baker before progressing on to senior management roles in Australia and overseas. 

He has a Masters of Economics and Business and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Public Directors. 

Ted is focused on building congestion busting infrastructure for the Sunshine Coast to support strong and sensible economic growth and help leverage the region’s strengths in tourism and innovation. 

Ted is passionate about civil society and helping individuals and communities realise their potential by taking control of their own future. 

Ted and his wife Sophia live in Buderim with their three children Alexandra, Henry and Edwina.
