Senator Blyth is an experienced education executive, wife and mother of three children. She has significant executive leadership, marketing expertise and financial acumen. This makes Senator Blyth a strong and effective advocate for South Australia.
Senator Blyth’s family story reflects the Australian promise of opportunity through hard work, personal responsibility and freedom. Her parents and grandparents migrated from England, India and Burma in search of a better future, drawn by the opportunities Australia offered to those willing to work hard and contribute.
Before entering the Senate, Senator Blyth built an extensive career in the education sector. She has a strong passion for educational excellence and ensuring Australia’s education system remains among the best in the world. Senator Blyth is also a strong advocate for the protection of women’s rights, strong families, affordable and reliable energy, sovereign capability, and policies that support a stronger economy and a more prosperous Australia.
Senator Blyth previously served in the Shadow Ministry as Shadow Assistant Minister for Stronger Families and Stronger Communities and served as Deputy Whip in the Senate. In her current role as Shadow Assistant Minister for Defence Infrastructure, she is focused on strengthening Australia’s sovereign capability, supporting national security and ensuring South Australia continues to play a central role in the nation’s defence future.
