Jane Hume
Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, Shadow Minister for Productivity and Deregulation, Senator for Victoria
Jane Hume is the Deputy Leader of the Opposition and a Liberal Senator for Victoria.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Jane completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, later returning to gain further qualifications in Political Science.
Jane held various senior positions in the financial services industry, working for the National Australia Bank, Rothschild Australia, Deutsche Bank and as a Senior Policy Advisor at Australian Super.
She has also served on a number of boards including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Federation Square, and Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia.
She has served in a number of Ministerial roles, including as the Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and the Digital Economy, and as the Minister for Women’s Economic Security. She has also served as the Shadow Minister for Finance, Shadow Special Minister of State and Shadow Minister for the Public Service. She has been Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Economics (Legislation).
Outside of her career pursuits, Jane enjoys swimming, reading, and most of all, spending time with her three children.
