Another talkfest, another tax hike?

Wayne Swan’s announcement of a superannuation roundtable is another attempt by the government to use a talkfest to impose newer and higher taxes on the Australian public.

Swan’s Henry Tax Review, itself an outcome of the 2020 Summit, left Australia with an investment and job killing mining tax.

The Multi-Party Committee on Climate Change, of which Swan was a member, left Australia with a job destroying carbon tax that will increase the price of everything.

Who knows what new taxes will come out of Swan’s superannuation round table?

The areas that the superannuation roundtable will look into have already been reviewed as part of the Henry Tax Review and the Cooper Review.

Swan has not explained why we need yet another review into superannuation.

This government is intent on announcing talkfests and new taxes as opposed to delivering real action to ease cost of living pressures on Australian families.

Since coming to power Labor has introduced or increased 19 new taxes. Now is not the time for another talkfest to justify another tax hike on Australians.

Only the Coalition will deliver lower, fairer and simpler taxes.
