  • Gillard Government nobbles Thomson Fair Work investigator

    The Gillard government today refused to allow Terry Nassios, the lead investigator into Craig Thomson’s alleged misappropriation of HSU funds to answer questions regarding the investigation.

    Senator Ronaldson today said, “In previous senate estimates Mr Nassios has been allowed to freely answer questions but this utterly desperate government closed him down today.”

    “The acting general manager of Fair Work Australia intervened in every question asked of Mr Nassios despite her only being in the role for little more than a month and despite her having no corporate knowledge of previous estimates.

    “The comparisons between this action and the way previous estimates have been conducted could not be starker. In previous estimates, Mr Nassios took all questions and made a decision as to whether he himself felt he was in a position to answer them.

    “This was an act of utter desperation from a government that will do anything to protect its wafer thin majority.”
