About Mary
Mary Aldred will be a strong and effective voice for the Gippsland region.
She was the founding CEO of the Committee for Gippsland, the region’s leading industry voice to government.
Mary oversaw this growing from a start-up to having over 100 local employers as members.
Her experience supporting small business continued in her subsequent role as CEO of the Franchise Council of Australia.
Mary has served the local community as Chair of the Gippsland United Basketball League and as Chair of the Gippsland Water Community Advisory Committee.
She has served the community as a board member of: Lifeline Gippsland; Latrobe Regional Hospital; Australian Sustainable Hardwoods; and Woorayl Lodge Community Aged Care.
Mary has helped secure funding for a new West Gippsland hospital and for local roads, infrastructure upgrades and better NBN services.
Mary has worked to improved market access for agribusiness. She has also helped to establish an energy transition plan for the Latrobe Valley.
