About Irena
Irena Zagladov has lived in Makin for over 20 years, raising three children in the local area together with her husband Michael.
She has always been passionate about her local community and keeping essential services accessible to everyone.
In 2007 she was part of a community group campaigning against the closure of Modbury Hospital’s maternity ward and cuts to its ER services.
Since being elected to Tea Tree Gully Council in 2022, Irena has served as Chair of Audit and Risk Committee and she is also involved in governance and policy development. She is a community member of the Modbury High School Governing Council.
Irena holds degrees in Business and Economics and has worked in a fast-paced digital environment for over 20 years, with her roles ranging from working for an IT startup to being an independent marketing consultant and copywriter.
She knows first-hand all the pressures and challenges that come with being self-employed and juggling family and work.
Irena’s skills, experience, and passion for serving her local community will enable her to effectively represent Makin residents in the Federal Parliament.
