As part of a grazing family, Susan McDonald has a deep understanding of regional Queensland and the challenges facing our farmers.

Raised in Cloncurry, Susan attended Mt Isa School of the Air before completing her education in Brisbane. A registered accountant and mum to three teenagers, she is also the Managing Director of Super Butcher retail group.

Susan is passionate about ensuring a bright future for regional Queensland and is especially focused on ensuring regional students get the best possible educational opportunities.

As a Senator, Susan would be based in Townsville, while travelling extensively across the state to ensure local communities are listened to and have their needs addressed.

Around 5 million Australians will start receiving our second $750 support payment from today, including pensioners. And millions of Australians are set to benefit again from the important tax cuts we legislated last year, getting up to $1,080 back in their tax returns. It’s all part of our record financial support to help get Australians through these difficult times. Over the weekend, I also agreed to providing more Australian Defence Force support to the Victorian Government to help deal with the COVID outbreak in Melbourne.
