For industries like farming and freight, fuel is essential for growing and transporting the goods we all rely on.
The price of fuel is hurting everyone.
The Liberal team has called on the Prime Minister to halve the fuel tax for three months.
This would cut prices by around 26 cents per litre.
We have also called for a reduction in the Heavy Vehicle Road User Charge, to ease pressure on freight and keep costs down across the economy.
The Liberals have also suggested specific ways this relief can be responsibly delivered by reprioritising other government spending programs.
Prior to the war in Iran, Australia’s inflation was already higher than every major advanced economy. People deserve relief from the crippling price of fuel.
