Member for Petrie
Luke Howarth is a small business owner, a community volunteer, a husband and a dad to three young boys.
Luke is passionate about helping small businesses thrive by reducing the burden of higher taxes that inhibit job creation throughout the local community.
He wants to see families able to spend time together without the increasing stress of higher costs of living, and enjoying recreational facilities such as fishing in the abundant and beautiful Petrie waterways.
As a business owner, Luke understands a strong economy depends upon businesses being able to operate without government interference. He believes that hard work creates job opportunities and is an advocate for teamwork and mutual respect in the workplace.
As a community volunteer, Luke continues to gain inspiration from the young people he teaches at the Redcliffe PCYC. He believes it is important to give back to the place that serves you in life and work.
Luke is a proud and life-long resident of Petrie, and his ties to the business and community groups provide him with a direct understanding of local issues. He is committed to standing up for the people of Petrie in Canberra.
Luke has a vision to maximise future economic opportunities throughout the Petrie region. He will fight to reduce congestion at major local intersections, increase security in local public spaces and ensure volunteer organisations have the support they need to continue their valuable contributions to the local way of life.
