Alex Antic was born in Adelaide in 1974 and completed schooling and university in South Australia. He completed a law degree at the University of Adelaide and worked as a commercial lawyer.

After serving as an Adelaide City Councillor from 2014 to 2018, he was preselected by the Liberal Party to stand as a Senate candidate.
