Kate Ashmor is a trusted local and a widely respected community advocate. She is passionate about small business, stronger families, a fair go and the vibrancy of our unique electorate. Kate has lived in Macnamara her entire life, growing up in Elwood, going to kindergarten in Elsternwick and then studying at Caulfield Grammar on an academic scholarship, she was one of the first girls to attend the school. Kate later studied Arts/Law at Monash. Kate’s first job was at a small business in Caulfield South and she started her own business at seventeen as a tutor to local students. She has practised as a lawyer for thirteen years and runs her own firm in Caulfield. Kate is passionate about our community and has served as a councillor in the City of Glen Eira. For the last five years she has been chair of the Caulfield Park Bendigo Bank, helping fund local projects and initiatives. Kate is a former President of Australian Women Lawyers and has served on various not-for-profit boards over the years. Kate and her husband Tom live in Caulfield. They have been married for seventeen years and have two young daughters, Tammy and Mikayla. If elected, Kate will be a strong voice for Macnamara in the Federal Parliament and will fight for our community and our values.
