Biography

Andrew and his partner have lived in Cooper for the past 18 years and his two children attend the local primary school. Coming from a family of small business owners, Andrew is a passionate advocate for small business.

As a teenager, Andrew worked weekends and school holidays installing sewers with his father. Andrew is a Chartered Professional Civil and Structural Engineer, graduating from Monash University in 1992.

In 2006, Andrew co-founded an engineering and construction business specialising in mobile telecommunications. Over six years, the business grew to employ more than two hundred staff, building and maintaining communication infrastructure in remote, rural and metropolitan locations from five national offices.

As a father of young boys, Andrew shares the same concerns of all parents regarding their physical and mental health and education. He passionately believes that small business is a vital ingredient in bridging the employment gap produced by technological change. Andrew looks forward to learning and building further relationships between residents, community organisations and businesses, and tackling problems that matter to the community.
