Labor wants to slug Queenslanders with two carbon taxes

We’ve heard today that Queensland Labor wants to introduce its own carbon tax on Queensland households. This is in addition to Bill Shorten’s carbon tax!

Bill Shorten and Annastacia Palaszczuk are teaming up to crush jobs and growth in Queensland.

They both know their new carbon taxes are going to drive up electricity prices for Queensland households.

Bill Shorten says this election will be about fairness. And he’s right.

What’s fair about two new carbon taxes on low income earners in Queensland?

What’s fair about two new carbon taxes on small businesses in Queensland?

What’s fair about two new carbon taxes on pensioners in Queensland?

Bill Shorten says this election will be about trust – and he’s right. The Australian people can’t trust Labor.

Julia Gillard promised: “there will be no carbon tax under a Government I lead”.

So Bill Shorten can’t expect anyone to trust him when he says “there will be no carbon tax under Labor”.

Julia Gillard promised there would be no dirty deal with the Greens after the election.

Madonna King (ABC Radio Brisbane, 20 August 2010):

In the event of a hung Parliament, are you prepared to negotiate on some issues, for example, the mining tax, by doing a deal with the Greens?

Julia Gillard:

Oh Madonna. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve ruled that out a couple of dozen times in this campaign. That’s a Liberal Party fear campaign and no one should fall for it.

So Bill Shorten can’t expect anyone to trust him when he says the same thing.

It’s the same old Labor. It’s Julia Gillard Mark II.

The Australian people won’t be fooled this time.
