Wow, not sure that will impress
Bit childish and Harvey Norman like
      Certainly has impact!

I enjoyed it. Very funny. Its the initial impact that matters Need to keep new such ads flowing. Don't overuse them / let them become tired

Funny and so so true, well done!

It's very different - I like it and laughed as well. More importantly, it is spot on the money. Good work guys.

Well done. You need to have ads such as this one (and hopefully others like it) on prime time air though just like Labor do

    • Ideas Avatar
    • archie 28/05/10 04:14 PM

At least it is a change from shouting "Great Big New Tax" at everything in sight.

Would love to be a fly on the wall when Rudd sees it. Apoplectic?

    • Bettyboop 28/05/10 04:18 PM

Not really into comical ads, but I guess it will attract the younger voters more.
We all know we need to change back to where we were a couple of years ago.
For someone to do that much damage in such a short time!!!!!!

    • Ideas Avatar
    • Michael Spencer 28/05/10 04:19 PM

The only way to get a message through to the sort of drongos who think that a swinging vote for Labor 'because it's time for a change' or something is to keep the message simple! ('Keep it simple, Stupid!') So well done with the 'steak knives'-type ad.

I think the last time the swinging voters followed the 'It's time for a change!' slogan we got Gough & Co. Now we've got something even worse!

    • Ideas Avatar
    • JVA 28/05/10 04:21 PM

How about we get serious and produce something professional. The Liberal party is not a discount house or is it. What next steak knives.

Keep appealing to the many disgruntled Liberal voters who voted labour back in 2007, due to the Costello/Howard issue, and press them to return to the fold.
Most of them will, after this disasterous Labour government performance over the past three years.
Also get Malcolm Turnbull back, we need all the talent we can get. and don't forget when Labour fights dirty, you will have to do the same.
Keep up the good work, Australia's future depends on it

    • Ideas Avatar
    • Steve 28/05/10 04:36 PM

I must say it does not make you look good unless you start interrupting "her" also
Keep the whingeing wendy ads going because it worked for them, do it back because they have plenty to answer for

Looks great and does not come across as being negative at all. Even staunch labour supporters will have a laugh at this. Get on the attack guys...I would like to see a follow-up regarding the Super Profits Tax, false taxation numbers and the possible effect on economic growth/employment.

It is a good start. You could also say, "all talk, bad action". No matter how hard the Rudd and co try, they fail. You should not mention Tony Abbott's name in these anti-Rudd adverts, except to present Abbott as the leader of the LIberal Party, a party with a proven "can do" record.

      Not overly excited about it.

It may appeal to the younger voters - and that is clearly the "audience" that we need to secure if we are to rid Australia of this disastrous Rudd government.

    • Ideas Avatar
    • Dianne 28/05/10 08:23 PM

Brilliant add, well done! Keep up the excellent work of exposing this rotten to the core Rudd bully Govt. Australia is appreciative. Don't know how much generosity of spirit it took to hug Julia Gillard on the Today Show, Tony, but you are a better man than I am Gunga Din. I'm afraid I couldn't go anywhere near Julia Gillard after the venom and lies that have flowed freely from her spiteful mouth.

Keep the pressure up on them and THANK YOU.

A nice change from all the talk on the super profits tax.

I'd like to see the liberal party produce an ad which compiles all of the broken election promises from 2007, and all of the "excuses" and "tricks" that have ensued. Might need two or three ads to fit in all the content however.

Then another ad could be run on the policy back-flips and stagnation over issues like whaling, funding for scientific research bodies (CSIRO) etc.

    • Ideas Avatar
    • me 29/05/10 04:54 AM

      FYI:
"Saw the Liberals ad, it was funny, if they can keep up the humour aspect to attacking spineless KRudd then I reckon they will win, at least it was their own money they spent on this advert and not taxpayers. It was informative as well as funny, a great combination. As for Krudd and Labor spending millions of taxpayers money on advertising, what's new.

How about an ad based aound gymnastics with the "triple back-flip" the highlight.

Excellent ad... Well done guys... Kevin "Dudd" Rudd has to be the worst LABOR leader since Gough Whitlam... Keating was just a Dickhead with an ego problem, whereas "Dudd" Rudd is dangerous to our economy & future worldwide prosperity & trade... Don't over do it though, people can get anti at too much of a good thing... "Dudd" Rudd is a fool who has fools following him like little dogs waiting for the master to throw them a titbit... What confidence could anyone have in a party run by failed lawyers, mediochre protest singing traitors, & chardonnay swilling ex union reps, none of which can string a "sensible" sentence together, & make it sound like the truth... Ye Gods, give me strength...

    • Ideas Avatar

    • Ideas Avatar
    • Mark 29/05/10 01:25 PM

Brilliant! More simple message like this is sadly what the general public need. Seriously, we need to get rid of compulsory voting. Most of the people I talk to simply don't know about politics, and don't care. They vote for what is popular at the time, not what is best for the country. So keep up these these simple messaged ads - hit them low and hard. When's the last time people could have a laugh at a political ad? It's a recipe for success! Well done. :)

Just thought i would pop in and comment. I liked the ad. It made me laugh. Best political ad I have been forced to watch in a while! I think Rudd's taxpayer funded as campaign has just cost him the job. I had asked my local Labor MP to get some information for me on the RSPT but what's the point of getting the information now? Doesn't matter how good the RSPT is, Rudd has to go, so unless there is a leadership challenge, I now have no choice - the Greens are too small a party to vote for.

    • Ideas Avatar
    • james 29/05/10 05:33 PM

      Okay Tony -

Please Please don't you or your colleagues say anything dumb in the coming week I think this tax payer funded advertisement by Labor on the Super Tax is really going to get a run in the media so we don't want anyone taking the heat of Labor with a stupid comment. Just another broken hollier than tho promise by Kevin Rudd but he can't get out of this one it's on tape and gives you a great line direct from his mouth to run with.

    • Ideas Avatar
    • Peter Wilson 29/05/10 06:25 PM

I have a very good sense of humor so I find it funny. I initially I thought that a lot of voters would think it's just plain silly (and lets face it, some will).... But I guess thats the point, it is so outrageously true that it should be presented as a joke. After all no one will vote for the labor party when they are being perceived as being a bunch of clowns.

I think the comment about insulation is in poor taste.. people died from the insulation debacle. i don't think it funny to use a tragedy where people's lives were lost to score political points..

Not impressed with the ad, it would make me want to turn it off or al least down,as I do with the Harvey Norman Ads. I do, however, have an idea for a jingle. I have the words and music for the old song "LET'S CALL THE WHOLE THING OFF'
It could start off with 'Home insulation was not a sensation' ,I am sure that your music experts could do so much with all of those other failures that Rudd has backflipped on. It has a catchy tune to it, and would be very funny, if it was not so true.
The tune would annoy them no end particularly as it is contageous and would stick in the brain. Email me back if you want the music faxed.
