Labor's Toxic Carbon Tax Claims Another Victim

Alcoa’s decision to review the future viability of its Point Henry aluminium smelter in Geelong is further proof that Labor must immediately dump its toxic carbon tax, Patron Senator for Corio and Corangamite, Michael Ronaldson said today.

“The first thing this Gillard Labor Government must do to ensure the survival of the Geelong manufacturing industry is to drop the toxic carbon tax,” Senator Ronaldson said.

“Darren Cheeseman and Richard Marles are refusing to listen to the people of Geelong. The Government must axe this tax immediately.”

“It is high time Julia Gillard and Labor stops fighting over their own jobs and started fighting for the jobs of hard working, decent Geelong workers,” Senator Ronaldson concluded.
