Ross Vasta was first elected to the House of Representatives as Member for Bonner at the 2004 federal election. Before entering Parliament, Ross graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Commerce and subsequently gained extensive experience in the small business sector.
Ross has both a passion for people and a practical understanding of small business. In the early 1990s he gained experience as a Marketing Manager and previously worked as a Business Development Manager for a finance company and is a member of the Institute of Personnel Management Australia (MIPMA).
Living locally for over 30 years, Ross owned and managed a chain of highly successful restaurants.
Through his experience in small business and as the former member for Bonner, Ross developed a strong understanding of the local community and forged relationships with many local organisations.
Ross was returned to Parliament as the Federal Member for Bonner at the 2010 federal election.
