Ken O'Dowd was elected as the Federal Member for Flynn at the 2010 federal election.
Ken is a Central Queensland identity through and through. Born in Gladstone and raised in Mount Larcom, he was educated locally and finished his schooling at Rockhampton Grammar as Captain.
With early experience at Queensland Alumina and Bougainville Copper, Ken then established a fuel distribution network in Emerald with bases at Maryborough and Rockhampton. He sold this business in 1998 and purchased his current enterprise, a timber and hardware store in Gladstone. He is also famous for renovating the O’Dowd’s Irish Pub in Rockhampton. Ken has a son, a daughter and four grandchildren.
