Bert van Manen was elected as the Federal Member for Forde at the 2010 federal election.
Bert has lived in the electorate of Forde for more than 35 years. He is married to his wife Judi and they have two children, Zac and Josh.
Bert has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry with 15 of those working for the Commonwealth Bank in a wide variety of roles and for more than 10 years he operated his own highly successful financial planning business.
Bert’s passion for Forde is born out of the fact that he has grown up, attended school and played sport and worked in the electorate as have Judi, Zac and Josh. He believes that Forde offers numerous opportunities for business, family, educational, sporting, social and community organizations to flourish.
Growing up and living in the area has allowed Bert to develop a sound understanding of the issues facing the electorate, such as improving the road and public transport networks, better management of the environment, better facilities and services for our mature citizens and affordable housing.
